Los líderes republicanos españoles tuvieron que afrontar la alternativa
de dedicar los recursos salvados de la derrota en la Guerra Civil a
salvaguardar las instituciones republicanas en el exilio o a la ayuda a los
refugiados. Este dilema moral y político fue la clave de las desavenencias
y de la ofensiva del líder del PSOE, Indalecio Prieto, contra el presidente
del Gobierno de la República Española, Juan Negrín. Este artículo
hace balance del gasto de las instituciones republicanas de ayuda a los
refugiados desde el final de la Guerra Civil hasta el final de la Segunda
Guerra Mundial.

Abstract: The Spanish republican leaders had to confront the alternative of
dedicating the resources saved from the defeat in the civil war to safeguarding
the republican institutions in the exile or in the help to the
refugees. This moral and political dilemma was the key of the disagreements
and of the offensive of the leader of the PSOE, Indalecio Prieto,
against the Prime Minister of the Spanish Republic, Juan Negrín. This article does balance of the expense of the republican institutions of help
to the refugees from the end of the Civil war until the end of the Second
World War.
