En este artículo se analizan las relaciones culturales entre la República
Federal de Alemania y España entre 1949 y 1966. El análisis se concentra
principalmente en la creación, o el restablecimiento en su caso, de
las estructuras institucionales necesarias para el despliegue de la acción
cultural de los Estados en sus relaciones mutuas. En un segundo nivel se
estudian los objetivos y los medios de las respectivas políticas culturales
exteriores de España y la RFA en relación con el otro país, y la forma en
que éstas variaron a medio plazo, al hilo de las transformaciones internas
e internacionales que afectaron a ambos Estados.

Abstract: In this article we analyse cultural relations between the Germany
Federal Republic and Spain between 1949 and 1966. The analysis centres
mainly on the creation, or reestablishment in some cases, of the institutional
structures required for deployment of the cultural action of these
states in their respective relations. On a second level we study the aims
and the means of the respective foreign cultural policies of Spain and the
GFR in relation to each other, and the way in which these varied over the
medium term, as affected by the internal and international transformations
both states underwent.
