34 Days reconstructs the progression of the war, from the soldiers' abduction through the hasty Israeli decision for an aggressive response; the fateful discussions within the Cabinet and among the senior Israeli command; and the heavy fighting in south Lebanon. It analyzes the developments on the Lebanese side - from the Hezbollah bunkers in the South, to Dahia, the Shiite quarter in Beirut that Israel destroyed, through the power struggles between Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. It investigates the raging diplomatic battles that took place in Paris, Washington, and New York, which would eventually end the war. 34 Days presents the 2006 Lebanon war as it has never been described before. It is based on hundreds of interviews with key figures in the war, including prominent politicians on all sides; soldiers on the ground; the mediators for France, the United States, and the United Nations; and Israeli and Lebanese citizens.
