A partir del análisis de una sentencia del Tribunal Superior de Cataluña y de las leyes españolas
que prohíben el maltrato animal, el autor sostiene que no existen aceptables argumentos
jurídicos, estéticos o éticos para defender, como se hace en dichas leyes, que los espectáculos taurinos sean considerados una excepción a tal prohibición.


Abstract:From the analysis of a decision taken by the Superior Court of Catalonia and of the Spanish
laws prohibiting animal mistreatment, the author maintains that there are not convincing legal, aesthetic or ethical arguments to defend that bullfighting could be considered an exception to that prohibition.
