Durante la guerra civil y en los años de la inmediata posguerra
tuvo lugar un intenso debate entre los diversos sectores del bando sublevado
sobre la forma y las características que debía tener el Nuevo
Estado que estaba en construcción. Un sector del falangismo radical se
organizó políticamente en torno a Ramón Serrano Suñer y lanzó una
ofensiva de carácter ideológico, cultural y político para profundizar en
la orientación fascista del régimen de Franco. La revista Escorial fue
uno de los instrumentos de dicho grupo para impulsar su proyecto político.
El artículo analiza esa experiencia político-cultural y discute algunas
tesis asentadas en la historiografía sobre las características que
tuvo el combate por la hegemonía política desarrollado en esos años en
el seno de la dictadura franquista.

Abstract: During the Civil War and the post-war early years there was an
intense debate between the different sectors of the raised faction about
the form and the characteristics that the New State under construction
should have. A sector of the radical falangism got politically organized
around Ramón Serrano Suñer, and threw an ideological, cultural,
and political offensive to deepen in the fascist orientation of Franco’s
regime. The Escorial journal was one of the instruments used by this group to push forward its political project. The present study analyzes
this political-cultural experience and discusses some dominant historiographic
theses in relation to the characteristics of the strong fight
for the political hegemony that was carried out during these years in
the core of Franco’s dictatorship.
