Abstract: This article begins with a reconstruction of the theoretical approach that
liberal thinking has developed about possibilities of justifying the category of
collective rights. On these bases, Michel Seymour’s theory is analyzed putting
forward the characteristics of its liberalism; his conceptual framework on the
justification of that category of rights and criticizing some aspects of them.
