El artículo describe los orígenes de la policía política comunista
en los países de Europa Central y Oriental a partir de 1944/1945, examina
la historiografía actual acerca del problema, describe las consecuencias
políticas del legado de las policías políticas y define algunas
posibilidades para su investigación.

Abstract: The article describes the origins of Communist political police in
the Central and East European countries of the Eastern Bloc during
from 1944/1945, examines the present literature about the problem,
describes the political consequences of the political police’s legacy and
defines some possibilities of researching it.
