Abstract: The analysis about the growth and the convergence has given rise to a wide and copious literature. The research
that have acquired most protagonism are those that evaluate empirically the existence or not of convergence in the
levels of income among different regions. In this paper we understand that the concept of convergence is much
wider and other variables must be taken into account besides the level of income. We propose to speak of socialeconomic
convergence understood like the tendency to the diminution of the breach between the standards of life
through the behaviour of the variables social-economic that define them.
Our aim is triple. First, evaluate what convergence clubs are detected in the CCAA in 1990 and 2000. Secondly,
analyze whether with the course of the time many interclubs changes have been produced and which variables
have conditioned them. Finally, analyze if a process of social-economic convergence in the CCAA between 1990
and 2000 took place. Our results point to the fact in the ninety not had place a social-economic convergence
between the CCAA.
