Partiendo del concepto de generación nuestro estudio aborda la
cuestión de las prácticas políticas de la masonería española. Durante el
primer tercio del siglo xx, hemos retenido tres generaciones de masones
que concibieron su función política dentro de unos márgenes coincidentes
con unos eventos que los unían: crisis de fin de siglo, crisis de
1909 y dictadura de Primo de Rivera. De esta manera, cada generación
política va a transitar desde la regeneración hasta la práctica clandestinidad
bajo la dictadura, pasando por su participación en la construcción
de la ciudadanía con la Liga Española de los Derechos del Hombre. A
su vez, estas generaciones reflejan las sensibilidades del republicanismo
español y su manera de concebir la realización de sus objetivos.

Abstract: Taking the concept of generation as a starting point, our study
deals with the topic of political practice of the Spanish freemasonry.
Over the first third of the 20th century we have taken into account
three generations of masons who conceived their political function
within
some coincident margins with certain events which joined them:
the crisis at the end of the century, the crisis in 1909 and the dictatorship
of Primo de Rivera. This way, each political generation is going
to move from regeneration to secrecy under the dictatorship, going
through their participation in the building of citizenry with the Spanish
League of Human Rights. At the same time, these generations reflect
the sensibility of Spanish republicanism, and their way to understand
the achievement of their goals.
