El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar los determinantes de que un individuo sea “Trabajador Independiente
Genuino”. Este concepto incluye a los individuos autoempleados cuyo empleo no es de subsistencia ni de dependencia
encubierta. Principalmente, se investiga el rol que tiene la educación como factor determinante. Para la
realización del estudio empírico se utilizan, un modelo LOGIT y datos de la Encuesta de Hogares de Argentina
correspondientes al Segundo Semestre de 2006. Entre los resultados encontrados se destaca el efecto positivo que
tienen la educación, la edad y el género masculino sobre la probabilidad de pertenecer a la categoría estudiada.
Abstract: The objective of the present work is to analyze the determining factors for an individual to be a \"Genuine Independent
Worker\". This concept includes self-employed individuals who are not at subsistence levels or who are
self-employed but respond to only one customer. Mainly, the role of education in this regard is studied. For the
empirical research a LOGIT model and data from Argentinean Homes Survey corresponding to the Second Semester
of 2006 are used. The most important result is the positive effect that education, age and the male gender have
on the probability to belong to the studied category.
