En el contexto de un nihilismo amenazador para la razón, considero que pensar en
los derechos humanos etsi Deus daretur sería más razonable y permitiría afrontar
más adecuadamente muchos retos. Respecto a la libertad de educación, necesitamos
discutir públicamente la naturaleza de la educación como bien jurídico y de la libertad
de enseñanza, el sentido del pluralismo y la tolerancia y el papel del Estado.
Una democracia viva exige el respeto y la promoción de identidades exigentes.

Abstract: In the context of a nihilism which is a grave threat to reason, I ponder that thinking
of human rights etsi Deus daretur would be more reasonable and allow to face more
appropiately many challenges. As for the educational liberty, we need more public discourse
about the nature of the education as a juridical good and of the freedom of teaching,
about the sense of pluralism and toleration, and about the roll of the State. A
vigorous and lively democracy requires respect for and promotion of strong identities.

Zusammenfassung: Im Kontext eines Nihilismus, der die Vernunft bedroht, betrachte ich es für vernünftig,
die Menschenrechte zu denken, etsi Deus daretur. Dies wäre vernünftiger und
würde es erlauben, mancher Herausforderung angemessener zu begegnen. Bezogen auf
die Freiheit der Erziehung bedarf es einer öffentlichen Auseinandersetzung über das
Wesen der Erziehung als einem Rechtsgut und über die Freiheit der Erziehung, über
den Sinn des Pluralismus und der Toleranz sowie über die Rolle des Staates. Eine lebendige
Demokratie erfordert Respekt und die Förderung von fordernden Identitäten.
