A.C. Grayling is one of Britain's leading philosophers, known not only for his contributions as a public philosopher of distinction, but in academic circles for his scholarly work on Descartes, Berkeley, Russell and Wittgenstein, his writings on the problem of scepticism, his widely used "Introduction to Philosophical Logic" and (as editor) his two volume "Philosophy" and (as chief editor) the "Continuum Encyclopaedia of British Philosophy".
