In his essay, Carlos Jiménez writes: Having expressed the relevance of the alchemic analysis in the case of the Barcelona Pavilion, we can return to the pages of this book and stress that it is the product of a vision by someone [Monika Bravo] who has been able to see in Gabriel Cure's architecture all of its ability to transmute itself into sensations, feelings, and emotional experiences. In this truly singular book, the purely rational information about Cure's work, presented through technical plans and elevations, and in strictly documentary photographs, is framed and even surpassed by a work that is more than editorial. It is art, and because of that, it is able to capture and to show the alchemic qualities in Cure's work. Alejandro Bahamón continues in his essay: As Carlos Jiménez affirms in his essay, Monika Bravo has become a master alchemist by showing us, through her gaze, the magic behind Cure's architecture. Even if Bravo has focused on the particulars, this has not been just for delighting in his compositions, in the richness of his textures, or in the elegance with which Cure treats his work to the last detail. It is neither a fascination with the small scale or the photographic subject, nor the search for a simplified view of the architect's work. It is actually the opposite, as Bravo reveals the starting point, the leitmotif that recurs in each one of Cure's works, his trademark from which flows an entire sequence of architectural values that culminate in the idea of rebuilding a city. And here, I am not referring to theoretical approaches in the classroom, land management plans, or urban development projects. I am ultimately talking about the way to make a city through the quality of each one of its buildings.
